What is Compassionate Integrity?
Compassionate integrity refers to the ability to live one's life in accordance with one's values with a recognition of common humanity, our basic orientation to kindness and reciprocity. This requires one to practice the skills of Self-Cultivation, Relating to Others, and Engaging with Systems.
This course reminds us of our inherent human values of compassion, empathy, kindness, and gratitude and provides practices that can help in being aware and mindful of them. These practices and techniques are grounded in scientific evidence, common
sense, and common experience. What makes this course unique from other such training programs is the gradual progression from developing skills that promote personal well-being to then developing skills that help in relating to others and finally
looking at the application of these skills at a systems level.
This course is designed for anyone above the age of 18 years who wishes to cultivate social and emotional skills.
This course is designed for self-paced learning, however, the course duration is approximately 40 hours. Participants who complete the course will earn a course completion certificate from Life University.
CIT utilizes a “three-in-three” educational model that integrates three domains of knowledge and three levels of understanding. The three domains begin with a focus on the self (Self-Cultivation), then move to others (Relating to Others), and finally to a systems-perspective (Engaging with Systems),in terms of the larger networks we exist in.
Each CIT skill is intended to allow you to progress through three levels of understanding. In CIT, it is important that knowledge not remain at an intellectual level; to be effective, it must lead to realizations and lasting changes in behavior. To this effect, participants are encouraged to use reflective writing and contemplative journaling exercises and guided audio practices to deepen their understanding of each skill.
